Burnaby’s bid to have construction orders on the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion rescinded has been rejected by the National Energy Board.
In a written decision issued yesterday, the NEB ruled that the piping modifications covered by the order are not associated with the expansion project.
According to the Board, the current orders allow the corporation to appropriately relocate lines to optimize services.
An NEB review of the pipeline expansion project is currently on-going after the Federal Court of Appeals ruled it had not undertaken appropriate consultation.
Recommendations from that review will be issued next month.
