In an effort to increase accountability, a new civilian management board is being formed to look in to harassment and bullying among the RCMP.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale announced the creation of the 13 member board yesterday, accepting all recommendations from two 2017 reports.
Conducted by former Auditor General Sheila Fraser, and the Civilian Review and Complaints Division, the reports took an extensive look in to workplace harassment allegations against the force.
In the case of the Civilian Review and Complaints Division report, more than 260 complaints made between 2013 and 2016 were reviewed.
This is the first time in the force’s 145 year existence that a civilian board will exist.
