RCMP officials say they will be conducting a review in to their conduct during last week’s injunction enforcement on Wet’suwet’en territory.
Criminal Operations Commissioner Eric Stubbs issued an official statement infront of media in Surrey today, highlighting the agreement reached with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs.
After going over the events leading up to and following the breach at the Gidimt’en camp, the Commissioner insured all that a thorough review of RCMP actions would be conducted.
According to Stubbs, there is ample video from body cameras, drones, and helicopters available to conduct the review.
To date, RCMP say they have not identified any issues regarding officer conflict during the enforcement.
Commissioner Stubbs closed by thanking the hereditary chiefs for their willingness to sit down with officers for numerous hours to come to an agreement.
