TransCanada may have picked an inopportune time to announce a name change for the now partially Canada owned corporation.
Today, the corporation issued a release saying they were changing their name to TC Energy.
According to the release, they feel the new name better represents the complete scope of their business.
Shareholders still need to approve the name change at their next annual meeting before it can be made official.
