Dozens of residents rallied together outside the RCMP offices in Terrace this afternoon to show support for the Wet’suwet’en people.
In a show of solidarity, residents on hand for the peaceful demonstration joined in drumming, dancing, and chanting, while standing up for their beliefs.

It was just one of a number of rallies taking place across the country after 14 Gidimt’en land defenders were arrested yesterday.
Yesterday evening, RCMP forced their way past barricades initially set up to prevent Coastal GasLink workers from accessing the land without consent of the Nation.
Earlier in the day, RCMP had attempted to broker talks between the Wet’suwet’en chiefs and CGL representatives, ultimately to no avail.
RCMP were acting in an effort to enforce a temporary injunction requesting the removal of the barricades issued by the BC Supreme Court last month.
Most Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs stand opposed to the construction of the pipeline on their unceded lands, due primarily to environmental concerns.
As a result, they never gave consent for the construction of the pipeline, despite the elected chiefs vote to allow it.
13 of the 14 individuals arrested will be sent to Prince George for court appearances.
