Residents of Terrace will gather at noon today in front of the RCMP office in honour of those arrested at the Unist’ot’en and Gidimt’en camps yesterday.
Rally organizer and Northwest Watch Co-chair is asking those interested to gather on the sidewalk outside the offices on Eby Street.
The peaceful demonstration will show support for the Wet’suwet’en land defenders arrested for imposing their hereditary rights over their land.
Coastal GasLink was never given the consent of the Nation to construct a pipeline on their land, though a temporary injunction issued by the BC Supreme Court requested they be given access.
As a result, 14 individuals were arrested by police who were enforcing the injunction yesterday for maintaining gates preventing access to CGL workers.
