Rainbow trout have been released in to Polley Lake as part of a hatchery project, 4 years after a mining breach cut the lake off.
Following the 2014 breach at the Mount Polley Mine, a fishing weir was put in place to prevent the water from heading in to the Quesnel Lake.
Late last year, roughly 17 thousand eggs went in to a trays at the hatchery located at the mine, with water pumped in from Polley Lake.
Now, in an effort to get the fish to return to the Hazeltine Creek, 11,300 rainbow trout have been released in to the Lake.
