Williams Lake’s first female mayor has passed away at the age of 84.
Ethel Winger served two terms as mayor in the 1980s, as a strong advocate for local businesses in the City.
Winger passed away surrounded by family at Cariboo Memorial Hospital on Saturday.
Ethel is survived by two sons, Verner and Wesley, and a daughter, Debra.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
