Rio Tinto has completed the sale of its wharf in Kitimat to LNG Canada.
The deal to complete the sale and lease of the structure and land in question is worth $576 million U.S.
LNG Canada first entered into an option agreement for the asset back in 2014, well before its joint venture partners made the decision to forge ahead with the multi-billion dollar liquefied natural gas project.
LNG Canada will build a replacement wharf for Rio Tinto to export shipments of aluminium from its Kitimat smelter.
