The Provincial Government is providing more financial assistance for those affected by the 2018 wildfires.
The BC government is kicking in an additional $10 million dollars for community wildfire recovery efforts in addition to the previous $3.1 million raised with the help of the Canadian Red Cross.
The money will help with recovery and relief efforts like debris removal on private land, refrigerator and freezer disposal and replacement, alternative heating source supplies, and health and wellness supports.
The priority for the funding will be individuals and families who are most vulnerable and will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
The money will be distributed through an agreement with the Canadian Red Cross.
