Williams Lake based Conservation Officer Len butler has been named the 2017 Outstanding Officer of the Year.
Butler has been a member of the BC Conservation Service since 1991, after moving over from Alberta.
Currently, Butler oversees operations in three different zones as the inspector for the Thompson-Cariboo region, and as one of three leads for the Predator Attack Team.
The annual awarded has been handed out each year since 1992 to the conservation officer who most exemplifies the values of the Service and goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Butler is the 26th winner of the award.
