With pot becoming legal Wednesday and just one approved retail cannabis store set be open in BC, the NDP took heat from the opposition Liberals in Question Period Monday.
Prince George-Mackenzie Liberal MLA Mike Morris wanted to know how long the government would let illegal dispensaries operate while legalized outlets get started.
Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth says enforcement to shut down illegal operations won’t happen overnight.
Farnworth said Monday that there’s no firm timeline for additional approved pot shops, but added there are 173 applications in various stages of review.
