In an effort to ensure all British Columbians have fair access to justice, Attorney General David Eby has requested a review of legal aid service delivery models.
The review will take place this fall and focus on the effectiveness and efficiency of legal aid service delivery for all British Columbians.
An analysis of the Legal Services Society’s current models will also be performed, looking in to caseload demand, private bar models, duty counsel, clinics, paralegals, and trends and models used by other jurisdictions.
Part of the process will include a public consultation which will allow residents to send in feedback.
