24 people near Cache Creek have been forced from their homes following a string of 17 mudslides across a small area earlier in the week.
The evacuees are all members of the Bonaparte Indian Band living west of Cache Creek along Highway 99.
Many homes suffered significant damage along the 9 km stretch.
Officials say the ground in the area was weakened and made more susceptible by the fact that it was still recovering from the Elaphant Hill Wildfire from last year.
Emergency crews working on the site say that the area is still very unstable and unpredictable.
