The BC Wildfire Service says the Muddy Lake Wildfire is holding at 612 hectares in size and crews continue to make good progress.
The fire, burning 20 kilometres northeast of Telegraph Creek, hasn’t grown since Saturday, May 12 when flames jumped the Stikine River and made a 40-50 hectare run in some heavy timber.
Crews have wrapped hose around the south side of the fire where the jump occurred and firefighters continue to work on hotspots.
The Wildfire Service says the fire is considered 90% contained, although warm, dry weather is expected until the weekend.
Cooler, wetter conditions are expected next week.
