North Distric RCMP say a 23-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after a motorcycle crash north of Quesnel shortly before 7:30 Tuesday morning.
Investigators say the driver of a north-bound Suzuki lost control on Highway 97 about five kilometres south of Hixon and was thrown from the bike.
Mounties believe speed was a factor in the crash. Any witnesses to the collision who have not spoken to police should contact North District RCMP Traffic Services.
The investigation continues.
