The Heiltsuk Integrated Resource Management Department says there has been no spill from a floating camp.
The department was notified at noon Friday about the camp which was listing significantly in Yeo Cove.
HIRMD contacted the Nanaimo owners of the floating camp who confirmed that it had had taken on a significant amount rain water in the last week.
Officials say there is no fuel of any kind on the structure, only an empty propane tank, and there is no further risk of any leakage.
Guardian watchmen, the Canadian Coast Guard, and WCMRC response team from Shearwater are on scene monitoring the situation .
The camp’s owners say a tug is en route from Vancouver to tow the floating camp south as soon as Saturday.
