Freezing rain on top of compact snow has left highways around the Northwest in poor condition.
The Ministry of Transportation has issued travel advisories for Highway 37 from Kitimat to the Junction with Highway 16 in Terrace and for Highway 16 from Terrace to 50 kilometres east of Terrace.
Drivers should consider alternate plans or use extreme caution.
The high avalanche risk west of Terrace has also left a section of Highway 16 closed between the city and the Port Edward turnoff.
