The BC Civil Liberties Association and other watchdog organizations are in Terrace Monday holding workships with service providers and members of the pubic on Charter rights when interacting with police.
Dylan Mazur with the BCCLA says the seminars will provide a toolkit of sorts when it comes to police requests for ID and searches.
Mazur says the workshops are part of an initiative to work with Indigenous communities and their relationship with the RCMP
The Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP and Independent Investigations Office will also be taking part in the meetings to outline their roles.
Today’s session for the general public will be open from 2-4 p.m. at the Eagle Room of Kermode Friendship Centre.
Workshops will be held in Smithers at the Dz l K’ant Frienship Centre Tuesday and Wednesday before sessions in Prince George Friday.
