BC Transit says busing systems in the Northwest will have a new operator starting this spring.
The Crown Corporation says Pacific Western Transit Canada will take over transit in Prince Rupert and Port Edward, Kitimat, Terrace, Skeena Regional Transit System, and Hazeltons Regional Transit System April 1st.
BC Transit says Pacific Western Transit won the bid after what it says was an open and transparent procurement process. The company will take over from First Transit.
Schedules, routing, and fares will remain the same despite the changeover.
BC Transit says it plans to work with both operators to ensure a seemless transition.
