Residents of the Smithers area are being told not to be alarmed if they see smoke coming from the Hudson Bay Mountain Area.
A pile burning project, which has been approved by the BC Wildfire Service, is being performed in the Bluff Trails area by the Smithers Mountain Bike Association.
The Association obtained a Category 3 burning license from the service to conduct the burn of slash piles in order to clean-up the trails.
Neither the smoke nor the fire poses a threat to the community.
