Prince Rupert’s community vaccination program is showing positive results.
According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, there were only three new cases of COVID-19 reported in the city last week, while a week earlier, the city reported 27 cases. There were 72 reported cases from the last week of March.
When COVID-19 case numbers began to rise on the north coast, 85% of Prince Rupert residents were vaccinated. After mass vaccinations in the Upper Skeena and Haida Gwaii, infection numbers in those areas also saw a decline.
