Premier John Horgan says orders will be issued on Friday that will ban people from non-essential travel outside their health region. Those who break the travel ban will face fines. To discourage non-essential travel, B.C. Ferries is no longer booking vehicles such as campers, and signs will be posted at the border with Alberta, reminding people to enter B.C. only for essential business.
During today’s COVID-19 briefing, the province reported 2,960 new cases over the past three days. There were eight additional deaths, including a child under the age of two. 441 patients are currently in hospital, with 138 in intensive care.
